Pine River Meet The TEAM
Dr.
Prouty was born in Westbrook, MN and graduated from high school
in Redwood Falls, MN in 1981. After high school, Dr. Prouty
completed pre-chiropractic studies at St. Cloud State University
in 1984. Dr. Prouty then attended chiropractic studies at
Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, MN,
graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988.
While on a fishing trip
to the Brainerd Lakes area during college, he knew that
“this is the place for me”, and decided to pursue his
chiropractic career in the beautiful northland of Minnesota.
After all, the Brainerd area had plenty of lakes and
trees…features not found in the farmland near Redwood Falls.
Since graduating from
chiropractic college, Dr. Prouty has established three clinics
in the Brainerd Lakes area; HealthFirst Chiropractic of Pine
River, HealthFirst Chiropractic of Baxter, and HealthFirst
Chiropractic of Brainerd. While practicing full time at the
Baxter clinic, Dr. Prouty has the responsibility of ownership
and managerial duties at all three clinics.
When Dr. Prouty is not
at the clinic serving the health needs of his patients, you can
find him enjoying the many outdoor activities in the area in the
form of fishing, deer hunting, golfing, or enjoying the lakes of
the Whitefish chain with his family.
Dr. Prouty currently
resides in Crosslake, MN with his beautiful wife and six
wonderful children.
Dr.
Aaron Hokanson was born and raised the small northern Minnesota town

Biology. He then attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic in
Bloomington, MN, where he earned his license as an Emergency Medical
Technician Basic in 2004, and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in

While finishing his chiropractic training, Dr. Hokanson joined the
HealthFirst TEAM in Milbank, SD. He relocated to the Baxter area
because of his love for the outdoors, the strong community located
here, and to be back in the state of hockey. Dr. Hokanson enjoys
watching and playing hockey and football also has experience as an
on-site EMT and chiropractor at sporting events. Being an
outdoorsman, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and water

as a lifestyle due to his personal experiences with chiropractic,
and his desire to serve people and the community.
